The heavy snowfall had not stopped Himachal from Celebrating Republic day

The heavy snow did not deter People of Himachal Pradesh from celebrating Republic day. Bone chilling cold and heavy rain not able to stop the spirit of nationalism. People came out whole heartedly to celebrate the Republic day.

Himachal during snowfall

Hundreds of people assembled at the historic Ridge Ground at the state level function braving intense cold and heavy rains.

Governor Acharya Devvrat unfurled the tri-colour. He also took salute at an impressive march past by contingents of Army, ITBP, Police Home Guards, Fire brigade, Scouts and Guides and Mounted police.

People of 12 district towns also took part in the Republic Day ceremony by flag hosting, cultural programmes by children and march-past by security personnel.

Chief minister of Himachal Pradesh, Virbhadra Singh along with his cabinet colleagues, legislators and government officials were present at the state function.

The State capital Simla received more than 29 mm of rainfall.

Shimla experienced showers and recorded the temperature of 4 degrees Celsius. Various Meteorological channels are forecasting that it is going to receive heavy Snow fall with in next 48 hours.
